I have tried several knee pads from the local woodworking store and box stores without much success. Those pads have awful straps and require constant adjustment to stay centered over the knee. I am 6'8", 250 lbs and my knees remind me daily of my years of competitive hockey. So, when I made my first Festool purchase I decided to throw these Troxell pads on my order and give them a try. Wow! These pads are awesome! I am installing wood flooring in my house and on my knees for 5-6 hours a day; no pain, no discomfort, no adjusting the pad (not once), and happy knees. I have been using them wearing shorts and your knees will get warm and sweat, but the pad stays put. They dry overnight too. They appear to be designed using a pad angle to ensure proper alignment. Whatever Troxell has done works. Advice, keep them away from Labrador Retrievers..they can make great chew toys. As Tim might say; Dude get a pair and be comfy.
