Festool Bundles and Specials A friend of ours called about the "best" way to cut acrylics
and plastics. The challenge was to find the right "cutting instrument" that would leave the smoothest edge (not polished) possible. After discussing
the options with him, and conferring with Festool Applications' Specialists we have
come to the conclusion that a TS 55 EQ based approach would produce the most efficient
and aesthetically sound product. This package includes:
-
TS 55 EQ + CT 22 Package (P2561174) - $916.00
Initally the CT Midi was considered, however, the CT 22 has HEPA Filtration and will provide a greater collection capacity.
-
Festool Special saw blade for Aluminum, Hard and fiber reinforced plastics, and Melamine, 56 teeth, Triple Chip (439686) - $70.00
The speed setting on the TS 55 for this blade should be put between #2 and #3
Festool Guide Rail 800mm (32") rail for smaller projects. (491499) - $54.50
Festool Guide Rail Connectors 2 required to connect rails (482107) - 2 @ $14.00 = $28.00
Festool Supplimental Splinter Guards (491473) - $14.00
Festool Quick Clamps (491594) - 2 @ $33.00 = $66.00
This will get us rolling into the Festool Cutting Of Acrylics and Plastics. When Festool
unveils the Festool MFT3 in the Spring 2008 we will add this killer asset to the arsenal of tools.
Adding the MFT3 will lend a quick easy way to do repetative cuts, lend stability to the work space,
and increase efficiency; not to mention the addition of a Festool Guide Rail 1080mm / 42". When the MFT3 Acquisition takes place,
our friend in Miami will have the 32", 42" and 55" rails at his disposal.
