Phillip From The Ohio Valley: Tim asks, “dude, what are you doing with all these RO 150 FEQ pads?
Phil Answers: Dismantling a Cedar Log home, interior and exterior walls, 1000 sq ft. house. I’ve just about finished the logs. The house was built 1n 1972 by my brothers and I for a guy in southern Indiana; about 10 yrs later someone ran into the house in a pickup and damaged some logs. These log homes go up like the old toy log houses we played with as kids. They are tongue and grooves and are notched together.
Any way a contractor took it down and the owner replaced the house with a newer one and I bought it from him. I have been storing the logs in my barn every since. We are finally going to rebuild it next year if everything goes as planned. This 150 FEQ Rotex has sure made these logs look better than they were in 1972, using Rubin 50 grit then Rubin 180 has made this sanding job a god send. I’ve got two large trash cans full of dust.
Thanks For Sharing Phil

I’m 3 days short of one month of using the 150 FEQ Rotex and I have gone through a few pads, but to date I’ve sanded over 6680 ft. of 6 inch wide, random length cedar logs and the Rotex is preforming beautiful.
This is the first sander that I’ve ever had that did not burn up in my hand under this amount of use. It was well worth the price for the quality and service I’m getting, Thanks Festool,
Phillip

I am a Hand Tool guy. Never had a need for a sander and was proud of it.
A friend came over with his RO-125 and we got to playing. I was thoroughly impressed with the dust collection and how quickly the sander worked at removing bandsaw marks using only 180 grit paper.
Within a week I had ordered an RO-150 from Timmy and my life has changed. My first project with the Rotex was a dare from my wife to see if I could strip 200 square feet of dark chocolate stained Douglass Fir flooring with 4 sheets of 36 grit and 4 sheets of 50 grit.
I managed to get most of the floors sanded with those 8 sheets of paper and had 2.5 gallons of sawdust in the Festool CT-22 dust extractor. Best part was the new tenant moved into the suite and never complained about dust on the built in’s, kitchen cabinets or anywhere in the suite cause the Festool Patented Jetstream system on the Rotex and CT 22 did an incredible job of putting all of the dust in the Extractor and not in the suite.
I have piled on another 6 hours of use with this rotex sander and am very impressed.
