Let’s hear what others have to say about this router. Give me some honest opinions about this router. What you like OR dislike, how you have used it, what makes it worth the dough!

My primary router before the OF 1400 was a Porter Cable 690 and although I liked it and used it with the Veritas Power tool edge guide I found that I’d sometimes lose concentration and the router would leave the guide messing up my sliding dovetail or dado.
When I bought my TS-55 and then saw the video for the OF1400 and its ability to work with the guide rail and the dust collection I was sold.
I sold the PC to help raise the funds for the OF1400 and although I still wish I had that router as a router for a table I am getting along just fine.
The micro adjust on the guide stop has a little bit of play so its accuracy is okay and I’d like to try to take the slop out of it but that’ll be a day when I have more time as so far it hasn’t affected my work.
The Dust Collection is good provided you start your Dado’s as a stop dado otherwise I have found the chips get thrown onto the floor as they escape through the dado. Once you’ve done the stop dado just remove the wood from the edge of the board and you’ll limit the chips on the floor in your shop.
I also really like the handle and find myself using the router with one hand allot.
The plunge is very smooth.
At first I was concerned about the metric measurements for depth but I am starting to find metric easier to calculate over imperial. You just need to start thinking metric
On a scale of 1 to 5 I’d give this router a 4.5
