Howdy All, we have seen a ton of traffic on the Pimped Out Bundles pages. Most of the bundles that you see in that section of the site were bundles that were made prior to the “Festool Feeding Frenzy” of March 31st, 2008 ( truly a monumental day for “the Junk”.) With that said, the prices of the POB’s has changed. We are in the process of getting many of them switched over to reflect current pricing and hope to have them available again soon.

In the meantime, we are in putting up new and improved bundles. Remember the bundles started by clients of Festool Junkie calling in with specific requirements and requests. After many conversations with Festool Junkies all over this great land of ours, I would compiled those needs and wishes into one central place on the site, and I called them Timmy C’s Pimped Out Bundles.

What I am asking for now is suggestions. Shoot me some ideas, or wish list type things and let’s get them up on the site.

If cash was not an issue, what would the perfect bundle be?

Hmmmm, sounds like a contest might be coming…

Thanks Dudes,

Timmy C

Festool Junkie is stocked and ready to rock on distribution of the three new
tools launching May 1st. You still have time to order the Festool MFK 700 Set,
Festool OF 2200 Router and Base Sets (Festool OF 2200 Metric Base Set, and Festool OF 2200 Imperial
Base Set
), and of course, The all new Festool MFT/3 Multifunction Table.

Despite pre-selling many of these items to get an accurate count on “first round distribution.” Festool Junkie went against the grain (as usual) and took on extra inventory for those who remained on the fence regarding ordering these items. I am amazed with the excitement over the MFK 700 and it’s versatility, the OF 2200 and it’s “Mamba-Jamba-ness” and it’s incredible nimbleness for it’s size, and of course the greatly anticipated MFT/3 has been huge!!! I kinda thought the MFT/3 would be a strong seller after the MFT 1080 went out of production.

Solid Surface fabricators are actually drooling over the 2200. With a significant price tag, I was unsure about how sales would be. When a SS guy gets this router in front of them, many were indifferent regarding the price, and once they saw the end-product…price really wasn’t relevant. One of our clients in KC said it best; “Timmy, it really doesn’t matter what you are going to charge me for these routers (they bought both the MFK and OF 2200). What I know is that there is not another product that will let me do this type of work with the dust control and the time involved. Dude, just make sure they are on their way May 1 and it’s all good!.”

If you are getting an MFT for the first time, here some accessories that are, in our
opinion, essential:

Festool Clamping Elements
Festool Screw Clamps
and the “sexy” Festool Quick Clamps

There are some MFT/3 Specific Accessories that promise to be rather “hot” as well:

Festool MFT/3 Cross Member Support to add some rigidity to the table.
Festool Adjustable Stop

When you order with any of these items with us, your credit card will be charged; However,
this will quarantee that we will ship on May 1st, 2008.

July 1st, 2008 is yet another monumental day in the United States woodworking and light construction community; this is the day that the Festool Kapex KS 120 Sliding Compound Miter Saw will be available to ship. Not since the Festool Domino have we seen such anticipatory anxiety over a tool.

The Festool Kapex is truly a revolutionary machine. It took quite a while for the engineers at Festool to develop a miter saw that was indeed worthy of the Festool name. For example, one of the challenges was to keep the saw as light and mobile as possible; the answer is a magnesium base with rubber feet. The saw weighs in at a mere 47 lbs. Closing the saw up to transport is a snap as well; locking the head to the side makes the saw very easy to load-in.

On the job-site, with the exact height of the bed of the saw the same as Systainer 1, more than likely if you are a Festool Junkie, you already have extension wings to support your longer trim or boards. If you are truly looking for the Ultimate Fence Systerm made right here in America, with brackets specifically engineered for the Festool Kapex, read on.

Festool Junkie has teamed up with Sawhelper. There is not a better combination than Festool / Sawhelper if you want to make the ultimate job site system. Portability, Precision and Value are the hallmarks of Sawhelper; add the Kapex, and you have one sexy set-up! The Festool Sawhelper combo will be AWESOME, keep your eyes peeled on the junk for pricing! Tim M. up at Sawhelper has designed special brackets for the Kapex whereby you will not need to cringe and drill holes to mount the UltraFence. In just a few days, Festool Junkie will announce the Pimped out Kapex that will be ready to ship on July 1st, 2008.

We are very proud to announce this alliance between Sawhelper and Festool Junkie, so eep an eye out for the Timmy C. n Tim M (TnT) ’s Pimped out Kapex / Sawhelper Custom Bundle.

Tool purchases can be difficult when you have a significant other monitoring your buys. Therefore, I have come up with the 9 ways to, “Hide tool purchases for your significant other”.

1. Use Pre-Paid Credit Cards from the bank of your choice. Often, if you squirrel away $20-$30 here and there, it is fairly easy to get up to the required dollar amount.

2. Purchase the tools on lay-away, so as not to have the glaring “big hit” to your credit card.

3. Purchase the tools with cash. Warning, make sure to get the tools dirty prior to showing them off.

4. Get a buddy to buy the tools and you pay them back. Careful, don’t tell the significant other it is a poker debt you are paying off.

5. Purchase several small tools over a period of time; never open them and keep the receipts! Then when you have enough credit on returning these items, get the one big item you desire.

6. Each project requires a new tool, make sure you commit to only the ones that require new tool purchases.

7. Purchase the tools, bring them home, and DO NOT USE THEM FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. This way, when asked if they are “New” you do not have to lie when you say NO!

8. Purchase large tools that can be dismantled; it is sometimes easier to get to the shop with the tools taken apart. Better yet, have the tools shipped to your work place, dismantle them there, and bring them home piece by piece. This is often beneficial for several reasons.

a. There is no packing material to throw away.

b. When you assemble the tool, it looks more like a repair job rather than a set up of the new tool itself.

c. Refer back to Rule 7: it may take a while to get the tool set-up. Therefore, when you are ready to fire it up, it is no longer a “new tool.”

9. Always round the purchase price down when asked how much something cost. I.e. if actual take home cost was $849, you would respond “about $800.” Tax never counts!

10. Please add your own creative ways to this post. I am always up for learnin’ somethin’!!!

Festool Junkie now has the prices that will go into effect on April 1st available on the product pages so you can make the call as to whether there is an advantage to buy. When you go to a product’s page you will see the “current price”, the “April 1st price”, and the “savings” you will realize if you were to buy before April 1st. I hope this will allow you to make an educated decision on whether or not it is worth it to purchase at this time, or “no big deal” to wait.

The biggest hits are on the Festool Packages and the Tools and Accessories themselves. We hope this will be useful to you in making an educated decision on whether or not to buy.

Happy Shopping,

03/04/08: Festool USA Suspends Direct Product Sales

Dear Festool customer,

It’s been a pleasure serving you directly ever since we introduced Festool to the U.S market. However, effective April 1st, 2008, our dealers will sell Festool tools, consumables and accessories exclusively and you won’t be able to purchase them directly through Festool USA anymore. We will continue to offer spare parts and repair service to you directly after April 1st, 2008, in order to guarantee our commitment to the best service in the industry. We will also continue to answer all your questions regarding our products. Please feel free to give us a call at
1-888-337-8600 from 8 am to 8 pm Eastern Standard Time or visit our website at www.festoolusa.com.

We felt that it was necessary to first develop a strong nationwide dealer network that could adequately service our customers before we stop selling directly. We now think that time has come and we feel that the needs of our customers can be best served by our dealers. It is detrimental to the commitment of our dealers when we compete with them for orders.

Please check the back of the Festool catalog for a listing of local and online Festool dealers. You can also visit our website at www.festoolusa.com/dealers in order to find online dealers and Festool dealers in your area. Find the dealer of your choice and start saving on shipping for Festool products today!

Thank you for your business and helping us to grow in the U.S. market.

Sincerely,
Christian Oltzscher
President & CEO
Festool USA

***This article was taken directly from FestoolUSA website.

Effective April 1st, Festool will increase pricing on many items. There are certainly some items that will not increase, mostly accessories, but nearly all tools will increase in price.

Across the board, this price increase is between 3% and 7%. If you have been on the fence, or on top of the “Slippery slope of Festool”, now may be the time for you to jump; as it were.

There has been a ton-o-speculation as to when this killer saw will arrive in North America. We should hope to see this saw by the end of the year. Not much is know about pricing yet; more than likely we will look for the Festool Kapex to retail around $1200 - $1600 US. THIS IS ONLY A GUESS! Festool Junkie anticipates this saw to take the country by storm.

Enjoy the video, and as I get more info, I will keep you informed.

Pre-Order Yours Today, On Your Terms Click Here To Pre-Order We can set up recurring payments so you don’t have to stomach the whole lump sum at one time. ** If the remarks below are true, July 1st Launch Date, $200 Down and $366 a month for three months doesn’t seem so steep. Furthermore, it will be easier to hide the payment from the significant other ;) . ***
The Pre-Order is a great opportunity to squirrel away some dough towards this truly revolutionary Miter Saw. The Kapex has proven itself in the countries that Festool has distributed in, and once again, the Festool Kapex should sell like hot-cakes here in the states.

Gary Katz Review Of the Kapex is quite flattering, you should check it out. Furthermore, there is a ton of info on the internet including, but not limited to, The Festool Owners Group .

Reserve yours Today!!!! at FestoolJunkie.com

There are unconfirmed reports today (3-5-08) coming out of The Festool Owners Group (FOG) that the Kapex will be selling for $1300 US regarding pricing and launch dates for the Festool Kapex Miter Saw. Please keep in mind these are UNCONFIRMED reports. In short, the rumor states that Festool will launch the Kapex July 1st.
There is also what appears to be some new interactive video on the Mothership, www.festool.de . It is extremely slick interactive type video where you can choose from 4 tools to watch.

Head over to (Click Here)>>>Festool <<<(Click There) and play along. Once you get onto the site, you need to click the English version, unless another language option suites you; then click on the ==> button and choose, Kapex KS 120, to watch. It is worth the steps it takes to get there.

Once again, these are unconfirmed reports. FestoolJunkie is simply pointing to another forum and Festool.de for video.

One of the key features I see is the weight of the table; 11 pounds lighter that the MFT 1080, and the improved stability with the “Optional Cross Members”.

Good News is also found that the hole patterns are the same 20mm holes and in the same offset on the table.

Good News that all clamps will work with the new MFT3.

It’s nice to see some info on this table….thanks Festool….

Timmy C

As of right now, the Festool MFT 800 is no longer available from FestoolUSA; and the MFT 1080 as we know it is in critically low supply out of FestoolUSA warehouse in Lebanon, IN. Word on the street is that there will be one smaller shipment of MFT 1080, MFT 800 Basic, and MFT 1080 Basic at the beginning of January. As for ordering status, they will be on a “first come, first serve” basis…..SO GET YOUR ORDERS IN NOW, and hope that you are amongst the “first come, first served” at the beginning of 2008!

There will be an “advanced” version of the MFT 1080, called the MFT3 that begins production at the end of January, 2008. The new version of the table will include enhanced rail design, increased height to improve the ergonomics and an expanded range of accessories will help in methods of work.

If you are still interested in getting an MFT 1080 get your orders in NOW! FJ will submit the orders and simply have to wait and see if we are amongst the “first come, first served.

Thanks for all the support this year!

Happy Holidays, and Goodwill towards all,

Timmy C
