This thing is AWESOME. I recently purchased it as part of a set with the OF1400. I can't get over how incredibly quiet this little DC is. On several occasions, I've knelt down to be sure it's running as most of the time I can't hear it over the roar of which ever tool it's connected to. The onboard power supply may be the most convenient part of the CT22. It's so nice to not just leave the vacuum running betueen cuts. I've also found this little CT22 has also been very useful with non-Festool tools. I hooked it up to my PC biscuit jointer this past weekend and had virtually no clean up after. I have also used the CT22 with my Dewalt RO sander. Though it didn't do as great a job as it would with a Festool sander, it still works better than a shop-vac.

I really didn't want to blow the cash on a Festool Vac!!! I tried hard not to buy the Festool Vac but in the end caved.

At first I started out just ordering my TS-55 thinking I'd spent enough money. When I got the TS-55 I realized how much dust it chucked out the dust port without a vac so I tried to rig up a connection for my current shop vac and it didn't work so I ordered the $55 non anti-static hose. Got that and it worked like a dream.

After a project or two I got tired of flipping the power switch everytime I made a cut. I thought one of these days I am gonna catch a hose or power cable and send my saw flying.

Then I started reading about HEPA filters and the like thinking wouldn't it be nice to have a HEPA filter seeing as how I was using the shop vac so much and wouldn't it be nice to dock the systainer on top of the vac cause my small shop doesn't have space for a large round canister 6.5HP shop vac and the Systainer taking space on the floor.

When you add up the cost of the non anti-static hose, HEPA Filter for your shop vac ($40) and the Remote switch for $40 you might as well get at least a CT Mini which will probably run you an extra $100 over the Shop Vac plus you'll have a much quiter system with variable suction instead of a 90dB whining monster which you'll grow tired of over the long run

By the way, from what I was told the CT Mini is not HEPA rated but still filters 99.3% of 1 micron particles which is way better then a shop vac.

Might want to look at the Long Life Filter bag as well. Pricey but if you live in a far away place like me where getting your Festool's is a Pain in the Back you'll appreciated the longevity of the Long Life bag.
